Please reach us at admin@starlinkaustralia.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Starlink Internet Australia Pty Ltd is a proudly independent, Australian-owned specialist provider. While we are not affiliated with or a subsidiary of SpaceX/Starlink, we are the experts in making their technology work for the Australian lifestyle.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between high-tech satellite hardware and the "unfiltered" Australian environment. We specialize in engineering and providing ruggedized mounting solutions and portable packages specifically designed to withstand the heat, dust, and vibrations of mobile use in our country's harshest conditions.
In short: SpaceX provides the signal; we provide the strength to take it anywhere.
It depends on your hardware! If you’re using our Starlink Mini Vehicle Kit, in-motion use is supported. This is a game-changer for businesses that need to stay online between job sites or families trying to survive a long hour trip, whether travelling with car, boat or RV.
Yes. If you already have the hardware, you can easily switch your service type. You can do this through the Starlink website or the mobile app:
Option 1: Via Website
Option 2: Via Starlink App
Note: By switching service plans, you are accepting the terms and conditions of the new service plan.
To activate your service, locate the Serial Number on your Starlink Mini and register it using this link.
No, you do not need a massive, heavy battery setup to run the Starlink Mini. It is designed for low power consumption, averaging around 25-40W, allowing it to operate for many hours on modest portable power stations, USB-C PD power banks (100W+), or small 12V batteries.
Starlink hardware is pretty tough, but the Aussie sun is tougher. In 40°C+ heat, electronics can throttle their speed to stay cool. Our mounts are designed to provide an air gap beneath the dish, promoting airflow and helping prevent the dreaded thermal shutdown when you're parked up in the desert. Do not cover the unit or place it in a tight, enclosed space. Allow for natural convection cooling.
With the Starlink Roam plan, your internet follows you across every state and territory in Australia automatically. You don't need to update your address in the app every time you move camp; the satellites just "find" you.
Not on our watch! We know you don’t want to compromise the resale value of your vehicle or invite leaks. We offer Magnetic Roof Mounts with industrial-strength neodymium magnets and Roof Rack Brackets that bolt onto existing rails like Rhino-Rack or ARB.
Roam Unlimited users can opt in and pay for Ocean Mode to enable coverage beyond 12 nautical miles or to connect in territorial waters for longer than the 5 consecutive days/60 days a year cap where Starlink provides active coverage around the world. Ocean Mode also provides higher network priority than Roam data everywhere Starlink is available.
To enable it:
To disable it:
Ocean mode is billed-per-GB and begins immediately once enabled. It will remain enabled until you toggle it off in your account.
Ocean mode provides higher network priority than Roam data. While it is intended for use on water, you can enable ocean mode while on land (billed-per-GB) and receive higher priority service compared to Roam data.
Note: You will need ocean mode to connect on international waters (beyond 12 nautical miles from land). Ocean mode data will appear on your next invoice and continues in future billing cycles until you disable.
